The SA-SAMS Modernisation Test Pilot marks an important milestone in South Africa’s journey towards a modern, cloud-enabled, and responsive school administration system.

Led by the Department of Basic Education and supported by the Gauteng Department of Education, Sedibeng East District, and the National Education Collaboration Trust (NECT), the pilot placed schools at the centre of improving the future SA-SAMS platform.

Rather than being a technology exercise, the pilot provided a real-world opportunity for principals, educators, school administrators, district officials and project teams to work together, test the platform, and shape a solution that reflects the everyday realities of South African schools.
